Air measurement is used to ensure that, following asbestos removal work, the air in the space contains no more than 0.01 fibres of asbestos per one cubic centimetre of air. We use an independent material research laboratory for the analysis of air measurement samples to ensure the most reliable research results.

Air measurement is carried out at asbestos removal sites after the removal work. The measurement is used to ensure that the exposure area has been carefully cleaned of asbestos and materials containing asbestos, and that the air in the space contains no more than 0.01 fibres of asbestos per one cubic centimetre of air. After asbestos removal work, the surfaces of the space where the removal took place must be cleaned and the air must be purified, followed by aggressive air measurement in the space prior to the dismantling of compartmentation.

The air of the measured space is pumped through a filter, after which the sample is delivered to a laboratory and the amount of asbestos fibre is calculated from the filter using an electron microscope and an X-ray analyser.

We use an independent material research laboratory for the analysis of the samples to obtain the most reliable research results. Air measurement is carried out by the Purkupiha Group’s subsidiary, Purkupiha Asbestityöt Oy (former Dammega Oy).
